Signature Program Targets

The program theme for 2018-2022 is Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service. The International Program includes five program targets that are designed to advance the mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha with excellence and underscore our commitment to sustainable service.

The five program targets for 2018-2022 are:

Target 3: Building Your Economic Legacy

Target 4: The Arts!

Target 5: Global Impact 


Alpha Kappa Alpha members will implement International Community Service Days annually  to highlight the organization’s collective impact in program target areas:

  • January 20, 2020 - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. International Day of Service
  • February 7, 2020 - Pink Goes Red Day for Heart Health
  • April 10, 2020 - AKA Global Impact Day Observance
  • August 23, 2020 - AKA international Day of Prayer Observance
  • September 21, 2020 - AKA HBCU Day Observance
  • October 5, 2020 - Breast Cancer Awareness Day
  • November 20, 2020 - AKA Caregivers' Day Observance
